Calidore String Quartet, winner of the Avery Fisher Career Grant, has been recognized for achieving an extraordinary cohesion of individual artistry and collective expression. Lauded by The Los Angeles Times for performances that are “astonishing…the kind of sublimity other quartets spend a lifetime searching for,”Calidore will perform two of the most compelling pieces in the string quartet repertoire: Shostakovich’s 8th quartet and Beethoven’s masterpiece, the Quartet in C# minor opus 131.
